First of all, let me tell you that I have had about every hobby invented but none have really stuck with me like stamping and scrapbooking have. I just love the both of them and I don't see me stopping any time soon. With a stamp collection numbering some where over 3500, you would think that was enough but like any true collector you can never have too many! LOL
I have been rubber stamping now for about 11 years (best guess)(my daughter was very young and she is now 14) and I have been scrapbooking my memories since I was very young. My mom had a reat little book that had me write down all sorts of informationabout myself all through my school years and then in Jr. High she bought me a big 11X14 scrapbook that I could put all my memoribilia into from school and personal events. And I still have it but all the tape has yellowed and fell off and all my photos that were placed in the magnetic albums have begun to yellow and come out so I decided that I had better get more involved in preserving my memories so that they will still be around when I am old. I am only in my mid 30's now and they have deteriorated this bad in about 15 to 18 years so just imagine what quality they would be in by the time I am in my 80's. So I began the process of saving all my children's memories in the correct ways so that their memories will still be around when they are old.
And another reason that I stamp is because I can be creative and never have to worry about drawing the image just right and neatly everytime. Don't get me wrong I love to draw but I also love to stamp! It is a chance to color again. Once you grow up you aren't aloud to just sit and color for hours like you did when you were a child. But using rubber stamps is the chance to re-live something that I truly did enjoy as a child! LOL
And I could go on and on but I better stop here or this page will be a million miles long. LOL
Thanks for listening to me!
